Ye’ Olde…. SFYTT February and Hambo

I am always in need of Birthday cards for one person or another and so this past week when Hambo Digital Stamps released the Dragon {I crack myself up!}, I totally had to use the birthday phrase!

I pulled out the Sketch for You to Try from my stack of challenges that I have printed out and was going to make it work. I colored in the Dragon with BG10, BG11, BG13, BG15 and BG18 which I actually pulled for the My Minds Eye wood plank paper in the background. I made him act as my “circle” so that he would be the feature with some twine tied behind him for interest.

The next challenge was the three circles. I decided to pull out three white buttons and tie them off with Caribbean Twine from The Twinery. I did adapt them to pull them near the top to create a balance when I added the sentiment near the bottom of the card.

Next up was the inside. I wanted it simple but to match the outside as well. I can’t leave a dark card empty on the inside otherwise it is hard to write in.

What type of card are you always creating? What types of cards are you looking for but can never seem to find?

So Special- Bugaboo

This weekend, the new Stella Says Sketch #104 was released and I couldn’t wait to play along. The sketch was pretty straight forward and easy to recreate and I totally just went with it.

The first thing I knew was that I wanted to use a Bugaboo image. I pulled out Scruffy Puppy- Lay and my C3, C5, R22 and 100 Copics and got to coloring. I finished him off by adding some Glossy Accents to his tongue and nose and Matte Accents to his pads on his paw. So cute!

I pulled out various scraps from my scrap bag of previous projects and just mounted each one on solid cardstock. I finished the bottom two off by tying some Carribean twine from The Twinery around them and added some rhinestones on the edge of the larger block and the corner of the card.

The background paper is from My Minds Eye Lost and Found Madison Avenue and accented with a bit more bling. The sentiment stamp is a new one for me {thanks Leslie} from Gina K. Totally love the simplicity of it.

Hope you enjoy this card. Why not stop by my Etsy shop and take a peek of the great new cards that are available.
