Green Eggs and …. Hambo!

Welcome to “Green Eggs and ……Hambo” sponsored by Hambo Stamps! Today Hambo customers and the Bacon Bits Design Team are bringing you fun creations that depict book titles! It might be our favorite book, or just one that was fun to design. If you arrived here from Talk to the Ham you are in the right place! If not, you might want to start back at the beginning at the Hambo blog to make sure you are eligible for the hopper prize!
A prize will be awarded to one participant whose book-themed creation tickles the Bacon Bits’ fancy in a hammin’ jammin’ way! Another prize will be awarded randomly to a hopper who comments on all the blogs along the way. The winners will be announced on the Hoedown blog, as well as on the Hambo company blog, Talk to the Ham, on Wednesday, February 1.

My creation is a take on a popular Dr. Seuss Series book entitled “Go, Dog, Go“. This book was the first book that my brother learned how to read and has always had a special place in my heart.

I wanted to use the new Bailey Dog release for this and wanted to feature him but also use the same format from the book. I pulled some papers from my scraps for the top and bottom and they happened to be from my K & Company Paper Pad. I’m loving these pads for papers with nice rich colors and some subtle prints or textures.

I pulled out my Bic Ultra Fine Markers and colored in the brown area on Bailey. I then pulled out a few of my Copics (B06 and B000) and colored in his collar and name tag. I coated the name tag with Glossy Accents to give it a bit of shine.

I mounted Bailey on a piece of white cardstock cut for the front that I then added the Orange and Green strips to after I had inked the edges with Spiced Marmalade and Shabby Shutters Distress Inks. I decided to add some twine at the bottom on top of the green to make up for not having a bottom sentiment. I think it pulled it together.

The top sentiment is spelled out with the Close To My Heart Typeset Alpha stamp set in Spiced Marmalade before I inked the edges with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and added two black mini brads. The banner is also popped up a bit with foam tape {just ordered 2 more rolls}.

Love how the finished card turned out and I’ve added it to my Etsy shop!

Now dance on over to Melissa for another great book!

With Love- Love Me Do Blog Hop Day 5

Welcome to the last day of the “Love Me Do” Valentine’s Blog Hop! This is the last round up of 5 talented designers sharing projects with you on their blogs to get you prepared for the upcoming season of love! Whether you use these designs to create something for your loved ones or spring-board off the inspirations given, we would love to see your work as well, so leave a comment on the blogs as you go through.

On January 24th, we will be giving away a collection of goodies from the group to one lucky participant. The giveaway will be hosted through filling out a Google Docs form, here on Live.Teach.Create later this afternoon, asking various questions about the posts throughout the week. All those who enter with the correct answers will have a chance to win!

Today I am sharing with you my absolute favorite of all cards that I created for this week. I started with a red 4 1/4″ square base for this card. I used that EK Success Diamond Lace Punch once again on my black border. I placed it behind a scrap of white with red polka dots paper {old My Mind’s Eye line- circa 2010 I think}.

After cutting the label with my CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge, I punched a hole in both sides and then ran a piece of black grosgrain ribbon through the label. I used foam tape to adhere it to the front of the card.

I used a Nestabilities Scalloped Circles to cut the circle from Making Memories Ledger paper and then used the same CTMH stamp set I’ve used this week to stamp a partial heart in Fired Brick Distress Ink. I inked up the edges in Black Soot Distress Ink and then stamped With Love in Memento Tuxedo Black.

Thanks for joining me today for Day #5 of the “Love Me Do” Valentine’s Blog Hop! Next person in the hop is Jessica of Handmade Cre8ivity. If you haven’t had a chance to see all 5 days of this blog hop, please take a look back at the past posts!

Don’t forget your Blog Hop Giveaway Entry is due no later than Monday, January 23rd at Midnight CST. Get to hopping to find those answers!
